I enjoy carving pet headstones from my workshop in Combe Down, using the famous Portland Stone. The stone, oolitic limestone from the late Jurassic period is around 145 million years old and is used all over Europe for headstones.
We as a family have had a number of cats and dogs over the years and I feel a real sense of empathy and compassion for people who have lost their much loved pet.

I have created two stone sizes. The small stone is designed to carry a name and two dates and the larger stone two names and two dates. I am also able to include short messages at an additional cost if necessary.
Terms and Conditions
These stones are designed to be freestanding and sited in a protected area of your property. Alternatively, they can be set on a plinth or in a small trench filled with pea shingle ensuring there is at least 5cms of pea shingle around and below the stone to a depth of about 7.5cm – 8cms for the small stones, or about 12cm - 14cm for the larger stones, or until they are stable. Portland stone is extensively used for grave stones and whilst I do everything I can to ensure that your headstone arrives in perfect condition, subsequent damage is out of my control and I am afraid I can accept no liability for any such damage.
